UMart Purchasing Process
OIT Certified Laptops
Students must be registered for classes before they are eligible to buy the laptop. Once registered for classes, students can select the bundle they wish to purchase, and use their University of Minnesota Internet ID and password to authenticate in order to be passed to the vendor site. Students are only eligible to buy one of these laptops in during their college career at the University of Minnesota.

Vendor Personal Purchases
Personal purchases are for general users affiliated with the University community. So, if you want to buy a new home computer, for example, one would use a Personal Purchase. Use the left-side navigation to visit various UMart vendors.
Departmental Purchases
Departmental purchases, on the other hand, are solely for use when departments will be paying for equipment. So, a new piece of software for one's office would be purchased through Departmental Purchase. Use the left-side navigation to visit various UMart vendors.
